Each week of HTMAA focused on a different tool or skillset. During the week on cutting tools, one of our weekly assignments was to create a modular, cardboard, press-fit, laser-cut construction kit which could be assembled in multiple ways. For this assignment I created a modular geodesic lamp kit, with options for closed and inset panels for diffusing light, using the CAD skills I’d developed during my time at The Possible Zone. During the week on CNC machining, our weekly assignment was to “make something big” with a 4’x4’ sheet of ½” OSB. For this assignment I created a press-fit stand for my lamp, which press-fits onto the corner of my desk. No adhesive was used in either project.
